First, I’ve always had this problem with my 722, before and after the blasted 5.xx software updates. I have my 722’s audio going through HDMI to my LCD TV. Then I have the TV’s optical out hooked up to my Pioneer receiver. When I pause something (recorded or live), it seems that the sound output from the 722 just stops. However, my TV shows that PCM audio is coming in when I pause it- I don’t know if it “sees” anything, or if that’s just a default assumption when the optical is hooked up.
I’ve got a 42″ Plasma HDTV 1080i and wonder how you get output from dvi or hdmi to work good on the TV. I have tried before, but no resolution that was selectable would look good at all on the tv. So i’m curious how you get a good resoultion to work with the TV and it look good. I’d actually like to try gaming on it.

I am interested in connecting a DVD burner to my VIP722 and see some advice on best options. Here’s my current setup. My 722 is setup in Single Mode and outputs to my HDTV via HDMI. I have a my second TV (SD) hooked up in another room via the In Home Distribution output jack….I also have an OTA antenna connected to my 722 for my locals.
